The Santhalis, a prominent Adivasi community in West Bengal, have a rich cultural history rooted in agriculture, vibrant dance and music traditions, distinctive festivals like "Baha Parab," and unique attire. Their art, including traditional paintings and crafts, depicts daily life and mythology. The Santhali language, Ol Chiki, holds a vital place in their cultural identity. The community's social structure, with a council of elders known as "Manjhi," emphasizes communal harmony. Santhalis have historically struggled for land rights, reflecting ongoing socio-political challenges. Despite these, they continue to preserve and celebrate their unique cultural heritage.
